General Engineering, AES
Program is designed for students transferring to a four-year university to complete their BS degree in engineering. The program is designed for students transferring to Colorado School of Mines, but is also appropriate for students who are undecided about the engineering field or transfer university. It allows them to complete the first 2 years of the degree prior to transferring. Engineering is the application of science and math to solve problems, and engineers figure out how things work and find practical uses for scientific discoveries. Career paths include jobs in the fields of mechanical, civil, electrical, environmental, aerospace, biomedical, chemical, geological, and quantum engineering. This Associate of Engineering Science (AES), General degree program introduces students to calculus, physics, and both traditional and project-based engineering courses. The degree allows students to transfer to a four-year engineering program to complete the remaining portion of a BS degree in Engineering or to directly enter the workforce upon completion.
