ECO 201 Principles of Macroeconomics (GT-SS1)

3 Credit hours      45 Contact hours

Focuses on the study of the American economy, stressing the interrelationship among household, business, and government sectors. Explores saving and investment decisions, unemployment, inflation, national income accounting, taxing and spending policies, the limits of the market and government, public choice theory, the Federal Reserve System, money and banking, and international trade.

Prerequisite

Successful completion of CCR 092 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment scores and successful completion of level MAT 120 or higher (grade C or higher) or qualifying assessment scores (Accuplacer EA 60+, ACT Math 19+, SAT MAT 500+). *Note: MAT 121 is necessary for students in some degrees including the AA Business and AA Economics programs. These students should not take MAT 120. Please see an academic advisor if you have any questions.*
